Meeting Toyah has just got to be one of my childhood dreams come true!
Talia, the assistant producer from Rock Oyster Media announced at the previous Creative Tie Dye T'Shirt filming who was going to be the celebrity for my next craft session on the programme
What a fantastic day! And wow what a privilage to be asked! I didn’t realise when I bought the Toyah Album at 14 that I was gong to be teaching my 80’s icon Toyah how to UpCycle lampshades!
It was very cold and the wind was biting the day we arrived I saw a very petite lady standing in a warm checked jacket.. it sure was! Toyah!!! I was dying to say hello ! The world works in amazing ways! Had my late father got something to do with it or was it just a bolt from my past!
So back in the Green Room on Jimmy's Film set on set and sitting on the straw bales!
I had spent a while prepping the shades for Jimmy, Shivi and Toyah. Choosing a more masculine fabric choice for Jimmy and a beautiful sari fabric for Shivi and Toyah but on the day they all chose the ones they wanted to work on, choas as I remember!
Actually as this was going to be my second time on TV I spoke to the make artist Victoria who has met some amazingly stars like Tom Jones and Mary Berry. I asked if she could do something with my hair as I never really wear it down, and this time felt Id' like to!
My time slot had been given so we had a few minutes to tame my locks so Victoria took me over the make up area. It was like magic! With a flick of a pair of straighteners and some clever concealer I was transformed!
But then, in a mad rush! The AB ReVamp team came running in saying that my filming slot had changed and I was due that moment! My moment of relax had ended!
When I got there the table was all set and they were ready to go!
It took me back to the T'shirt filming! Here we go! Camera Action!
I loved Toyah's choice for her shade The trim was actually a piece of leather off a boot of mine that I had worn on my wrist when I dressed up (see below) as her at a We Will Rock You Concert! She has good taste!
Hope you enjoyed the programme!
