About ReVamp Boutique
Meet Sarah & Simon Ashby-Bassett
When Sarah & Simon met in 2007, Sarah had just renovated her home and Simon had no idea what change of direction was coming his way!
A few years on, after the birth of their son, they both recognised that they had more in common than just love! Their passion for creatively ReUsing everyday items became fun and constant ReThinking anything from shells to furniture to their most recent project an Upfurbished Lodge ReTreat in Suffolk.
Sarah started to incorporate ReUsing in her schemes, recognising a “gem” that needed some ReLoving and clients started to offer her pieces to upcycle. Not long after she had her first ReVamp sale and commissions followed! And so ReVamp Boutique was born!
With basic DIY and carpentry skills from school, Simon started to adapt some of the pieces under Sarah’s design eye and soon Simon took an interest in the upholstery side making this a formidable creative team.
Sarah’s passion is to share some ReVamp secrets, and returning to her teaching experience she gleaned at a local college. ReVamp's workshops have gone from strength to strength, and they now offer the same workshops for sustainable team building events to businesses. These ReUse workshops are are not just sustainable, they are creative, fun, sociable and excellent for your well being!
ReVamp is now in its 10th year of business of reusing items and promoting sustainability, and their workshops have now been featured on ITV, Carfest, Grand Designs Live and Westfields Good Festival London. The business now has a portfolio of customers and business clients offering wellbeing corporate workshops all over the UK.
But this doesn't stop them taking on commissions creating bespoke designs and selling their statement furniture
They also rent out their Retreat, the complete ReVamp experience, available for booking now. To find out more about us, watch our video on our about us page.
We would love you to get in touch to catch the infectious bug of upcycling and ReUsing with us!
This year Sarah celebrates 10 years of ReVamp Boutique, as creative director of the business.
Sarah, who was brought up on a farm, started her design career at the age of 11, experimenting with tools and materials, all adding to her expert knowledge on design repurposing upcycling items like bikes, and saddles which at that age the real thing wasn't obtainable to her!
Sarah studied Interior Design At KLC in London and armed with this passion for design she went on to renovate properties, create show house designs specialising in lighting for clients, working with Vaughan & Blyth and Swift Developments, with repurpose and sustainably focused in her schemes.
Writing her own course content, Sarah taught at a local Adult Education College then expanded by launching ReVamp. Here you can come to the workshop in Tiptree or we can visit you or your business to offer a wide range of workshops for upcycling or wellbeing.
ReVamp's workshops have now been featured on ITV, Carfest, Grand Designs Live and Westfields Good Festival London and we have carried out various wellbeing corporate workshops all over the UK.
Simon started his upholstery career at The Upholstery Skills Centre in Essex.
Realising he wanted a change of career, he continued his training whilst working in the Essex County Fire Service by having one to one lessons with a local upholsterer.
Here he accomplished many skills and recognised he had an eye for detail and perfection and was keen to join the business with Sarah..
He continued his training while he was still working, his shifts enabling him to practice his skills.
Six years later he joined the ReVamp husband and wife team full time bringing not only upholstery skills but carpentry too.
Here he works with clients, creating bespoke pieces, adapting and bringing vintage furniture back to life.
